Dear all,
Sorry I am writing in Englsih, because my laptop was stolen in
Germany....
Now I am using other data set (international Social Survey
Programme) which contains a lot of countries.
I am focusing on Britain and Japan to see the difference
employment attitude.... Tomorrow I am going to have meeting with
my supervisor... but I have not started... but just playing with that
data...
In this survey, there is a question
"do you think it is wrong or not wrong if a man and a woman have
sexual relations before marrige?"
Anaswer is
UK Japan
always wrong + almost alaways wrong 16.7% 41.0%
only sometimes wrong 13.5% 44.5%
not wrong at all 69.8% 14.6%
It is striking contrast between two countries. If you separate this
percentage by sex, you would know men are more likely to say
"not wrong at all". 75.4% of British men, 65.1% of British women
said "not wrong at all". In Japan, 17.0% of men and 12.5% of
women fall in this category.
What is your answer? :)
There is anothe question
"What about a married person having sexual relations with
someone other than his or her husband or wife? Is it...
UK Japan
always wrong + almost alaways wrong 89.8% 90.9.0%
only sometimes wrong 8.3% 7.3%
not wrong at all 2.0% 1.8%
OK, it does not show striking contrast, but if you look closely by
sex, you would notice Japanese men are very moderate in terms of
having sex with others...
UK Japan
Men Women Men Women
always wrong 64.3 69.1 49.4 65.0
almost always wrong 24.3 21.7 38.1 28.6
You see, only 49.4% of Japanese men think it is always wrong...
while Men and women in UK and Japanese women have around
65% who think "always wrong"....
Oh, I have to work... I have no time to play with such a data...
SHITSUREI ITASHIMASHITA....
